Reasons producers declined to enter from most to least:

  • Tight economic times mandated budget cuts
  • Bottle shock/wine not ready
  • Only enter international competitions
  • Did not win an award last year so am not entering this year
  • Harvest time – too busy
  • Left it too late and missed deadline

 

Challenge Logistics:

  • On average 120 wines tasted per day
  • Each panel tasted approximately 60 wines, twice, per day
  • Each wine enjoyed approximately 6 minutes of each judge’s attention. Together with Chair’s time approximately 20 minutes in total
